The Triangle Youth Philharmonic (TYP) is the youth orchestra of the North Carolina Symphony. TYP concerts typically include performances of complete, original works from the symphonic repertoire. A member of the orchestra is selected by audition to perform a movement of a concerto on the spring concert. See examples of TYP repertoire.

Membership is by audition held before the season in late August.
