Bookkeeper

Job Type: Part time, 8-12 hours per week, remote and flexible, $20-$22 per hour

Description of position: This position reports directly to the Executive Director and provides primary responsibility for general accounting, payroll and financial duties. This will include maintaining proper financial records, bill payment including credit card reconciliation, keeping donation records, fee collections, bank account reconciliations, mail duties, processing payroll and related payments, filing state income and tax payments, grant budgeting, communicating with parents regarding fees, billing and/or donations, and other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks required, working knowledge of accounting techniques and procedures, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping, as well as experience with SalesForce and/or a Bachelor’s degree.

Operations Assistant

Job Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week, some flexibility and opportunity for growth, $20 per hour

Description of position: This position reports directly to the Executive Director and will serve a key role in our organization. This involves general operational assistance with auditions, rehearsals, performances and events. Duties will include equipment transport, ticket sales, marketing help, audition scheduling, volunteer and audience monitoring, database management, general communication with families and musicians, and other duties as assigned. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to solve problems creatively and work independently, must have vehicle and valid drivers’ license, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and a Bachelor’s degree.

Sinfonia Orchestra Conductor

Job Type: Part time, August – May

About Sinfonia: The Triangle Youth String Sinfonia is open to string musicians in grades 7 to 12 who are able to perform the Sinfonia Skill Sheet for their instrument at a proficient level. Musicians in Triangle Youth String Sinfonia enjoy being able to focus on string technique and develop skills that prepare them to audition for full orchestras.  Triangle Youth String Sinfonia performances typically include arrangements of standard repertoire.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Conduct weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings at Cary Arts Center.
  • Select repertoire with consultation and approval by the Artistic Director.
  • Prepare music and folders prior to first rehearsals of each semester, return to library after each semester. Professional string bowings should be provided to each player.
  • Work closely with parent volunteers and the Executive Director to assure smooth operations of the orchestra
  • Provide weekly communications to musicians regarding rehearsals and expectations.
  • Support the artistic vision and direction of the PA as defined by the Artistic Director, Artistic Staff, and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Be responsive to musician and parent concerns, as needed.
