Triangle Youth Music has had a busy start to 2023! From New Year's Eve jazz performances to a love-filled Triangle Youth Philharmonic winter concert in February, our musicians have offered amazing performances to the Triangle community. In January, our TYP String Quartet performed at Chavis Community Center at their King Day Celebration. February followed with a string (no pun intended) of jazz festivals, including Heart 'n Soul of Moore County, the Elon University Jazz Festival, and the regional Essentially Ellington Festival at UNC Chapel Hill. Triangle Youth Jazz Orchestra won best community band at the Elon Jazz Festival, Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble won best community band at the Regional Essentially Ellington Festival, and our very own Triangle Youth Philharmonic Quartet won the 1st place Joel Adams String Quartet Award from the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs this year, and will go on to compete at the State level! Congratulations to all of our wonderful musicians and special thanks to each of you for representing TYM so well!!
