Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of an arts organization like the Philharmonic Association?  Are you looking for ways to gain valuable work experience while in high school?  Do you want to learn more about topics like nonprofit management, social media marketing, programming, and other aspects of arts administration?  If this describes you, then the Philharmonic Association’s Musician Internship Program is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

The PA Musician Intern Program is a open to juniors and seniors in high school, who audition in August and are selected for a PA ensemble, or who participate in one of our non-auditioned groups.  As part of the intern team, you will participate in tasks related to the following areas of arts administration: stage crew, videography, social media, outreach, and our music library. Examples of tasks include attending monthly intern meetings, managing social media, creating advertisements, helping set up and tear down for rehearsals and concerts, and participating in the planning, set-up, and management of a special event.

This internship offers high school students the rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the business and music world.  Participants will develop skills, leadership, and responsibility valuable for any degree program and career and especially valuable to those degrees and careers related to business and/or the arts.  In addition to work experience, participants will have opportunities to serve the PA and the community and can earn volunteer hours by doing so.
