Have you heard of the Fischoff Competition? It is recognized as one of the most important youth chamber music competitions in the country and, according to Fischoff’s website, is the largest chamber competition in the world.  This year, Fischoff will be hosting their 48th annual competition virtually from May 14-16. Although the Philharmonic Association is always excited by events that promote youth music, we are especially invested this year as three of our members have made it to quarterfinals.

We are thrilled to announce that Triangle Youth Philharmonic members Jaeyee Jung, Catherine Yates, and Max Yates’s piano trio has been selected as a quarterfinalist in this prestigious competition, and we couldn’t be more proud.  Their ensemble, Trio Serio, is part of the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute meaning there are multiple local arts organizations cheering on these three talented musicians as they advance to the next level of the competition.

If you know Jaeyee, Catherine, or Max, be sure to congratulate them on this huge accomplishment and wish them luck for the rest of the Fischoff Competition.  We know that great things are in store for musicians as dedicated and passionate as the members of Trio Serio.
