When the Philharmonic Association was first formed, around 30 years ago, our program covers did not look the same as they do today.  The images featured were not the creative, personalized artwork that has decorated our program covers in recent years.  It is because of the teachers and students that submit artwork to our yearly Arts Invitational that we are able to create program covers that match the energy, creativity, and youthful talent that characterize our concerts.

We are so grateful each year to the teachers and students that submit artwork to our Arts Invitational.  Our staff carefully evaluate each submission in order to choose the piece most fitting for our concert program, but each and every piece is admired and appreciated. Thank you to the students who submitted artwork this year and to the following teachers for encouraging and organizing submissions:

Jodi Aker from Broughton High School
Karrie Matias from Knightdale High School
Paula Hansen from Panther Creek High School
Courtney Cappa from North Wake College and Career Academy
Ray Puckett from Enloe High School

As always, the first place winner of our Arts Invitational will be featured on the cover of our concert program for our fall and spring concerts and in the lobby prior to concerts.  The submissions that receive second place, third place, and honorable mention will also be featured in the lobby prior to concerts.

Congratulations to this year’s first place winner, Mina Yamamoto from Enloe High!
