Good news–your pursuit of music doesn’t have to stop once the school year ends!  This summer, the Philharmonic Association will be offering a string summer session and a jazz summer session.

The Triangle Youth String Orchestra summer session is geared towards young musicians who can read music and who, in most cases, have either taken private lessons or played in an ensemble before.  Students will have six rehearsals at Cary Arts Center, all on Mondays from 6:15-8:00 starting June 24th.   A dress rehearsal and free concert will occur on August 5th in Carswell Recital Hall at Meredith College.  Click here to learn more.

For youth musicians wanting to gain skills in jazz over the summer, the Philharmonic Association offers a week long intensive.  Auditions will be held Monday, July 15 for selection into two big bands.  The intensive will run July 16-19, 6:30-9:00 pm at the Cary Arts Center. A free concert at Sertoma Amphitheater will showcase what the jazz musicians in the two bands have learned.  Click here to learn more.
