A triumph of creative collaboration, spearheaded by the Philharmonic Association, is coming to the Cary Arts Center next month. Tickets are available for this event March 24 at 3:00 through Etix. An instrument petting zoo will be offered in the lobby at 2:15 pm.
The “Triumph of Rapunzel and the Nanny Goat” will recreate two Grimm’s fairytales using original music by R. Michael Daugherty played by Philharmonic Association chamber ensembles with student narrators, and a backdrop of charming art by grade-school students.
With melodies depicting each character, the PA String Quartet (members Ethan Ng, Avery Seiger, Esther Zhu and Stephen Chang) will bring you “The Rampion Girl or the Story of Rapunzel”. Then, the TYP Woodwind Quintet (members Emily Qiu, Noa Weinreb, Isabelle Lee, Ryan Gibson and Samantha Robeson) will perform “The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids”.
If you have ever enjoyed Peter and the Wolf, you will not want to miss this collaboration between the Philharmonic Association, the Town of Cary, Applause Youth Theatre and Cary Elementary Art students.
