Instruments and Practice
Students must have an instrument to bring to rehearsals and to practice on at home. A keyboard and drum kit will be provided for rehearsals.
Regular rehearsals will take place on Sundays, 2:00 – 3:15 pm in the sanctuary at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church, Raleigh.
Musicians must make a serious commitment to attending the weekly rehearsals detailed in the calendar below and abide by the attendance requirements in the Jazz Ensembles Handbook. Everyone is expected to be ready to play at the beginning of a scheduled rehearsal and at the call time before a performance.
TYJL musicians are encouraged to attend:
TYJB/TYJO/TYJE concert on Sunday, November 5th from 4 -6 pm
TYJO/TYJE Spring Concert on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2-4pm.
Concert in the Library: March 11, 2pm, North Regional Library, 7009 Harps Mill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615
Spring Concert: April 29, 2018, 7 pm with TYJB Covenant Presbyterian Church, 125 S Selma Rd, Wendell, NC 27591
Concert Dress is only required for the concert, not dress rehearsal, and is as follows:
Black pants (no jeans), white long-sleeved shirt, no tie, black socks and black shoes. Girls may wear a white blouse with black pants or skirt.
