From the By-Laws of the Philharmonic Association, Inc. Purposes: The Corporation is formed for exclusively charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code and to engage in such exclusively charitable or educational activities of any kind or nature whatsoever as shall qualify it for exemption from taxation under Section 501(a) of the Code as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Code including the following:
(b) To provide for the training of young students by professionals for participation in and a life-long understanding and love of great music; and (c) To increase family and community interest in symphonic and jazz music in order to ensure the continuing appreciation of, the participation in, and financial support of, these musical activities. Objectives: The objectives of the Association are:
(b) To present culturally significant works to the public; (c) To provide qualified musicians with proper direction and training to enable them to develop and improve their playing skills; (d) To provide, operate, and maintain advanced youth ensembles under professional direction; and (e) To promote and encourage public appreciation of and interest in symphonic and jazz music. |
